No Vacancy

If current world population trends continue, human numbers could reach 13 billion in the 22nd century.

No Vacancy is a rare chronicle of sobering optimism in a world accustomed to thinking about population as a dilemma with little chance of positive change.  These interviews paint a different possibility: a fertility transition that may prove to be the most important - and timely - ingredient in humanity's survival and that of the Earth's.

Please Note: This compendium of interviews from the documentary was published in 2006. Many of the experts interviewed here                                                  may no longer be at their published position/institution. This book is also out of print; the download is 248 pages.
